Living Wall Prototype sketch

Description
Our goal with the Living Wall is to see if we can measure and improve indoor air quality using living wall systems. The first type of living wall we’d like to test out is plant based, and the second is made out of moss. Each wall will initially start off with single test panels, each one with its own set of gas sensors, appropriate lighting, and a self-watering system.
Implementation
  • Scaffolding Dimensions: 2 panels, each 40inches wide x 68inches tall, attached to scaffolding and/or auto-poles as necessary
  • Lighting: LED lighting system (~100watts)
  • Watering: solenoid valve for drip irrigation system (living wall) and fine misting system (moss), sourced from an enclosed 5 gallon reservoir on-ground
  • Sensors: air quality control sample sensors which will measure carbon dioxide, methane, propane, oxygen, and EM levels
  • Data Viz: we will record data from the sensors on our website or possibly on hallway LCD screen.
